Common questions
Do I need to wash the pebbles before use?+
No. We pre-screen every batch at the factory to remove dust and fine particles, so you can pour them straight from the bag. A quick rinse never hurts if you want to be thorough.
Can I reuse them?+
Yes. Clay pebbles are inert and kiln-fired, so they don't break down or rot. Rinse them between uses and they'll last for years.
Are they safe for plants and pets?+
Yes. The pebbles are 100% expanded clay with no additives, coatings, or organic matter. They release nothing into soil or water.
Do I need to soak the pebbles first?+
A short soak (15–30 min) helps saturate them before transplanting, especially for brand-new pebbles. Because ours are pre-screened, you're soaking for water absorption — not to clean them.
Do they float?+
New pebbles can float for a while until they absorb water. Soak them before use and they'll settle quickly. In flood-and-drain systems, a full soak cycle usually does the trick.
Will these clog my pump?+
No. Factory pre-screening removes the dust and fine sediment that typically clog pumps and cloud reservoirs — that's the main reason we do it.
